After last Friday’s ribbon cutting, the 90-unit Concern Heights Apartmentsofficially opened six-stories of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. The Concern Heights Apartments provides Concern for Independent Living’s with its first mixed-tenant building, providing housing and supportive services to formerly homeless individuals recovering from mental illness and to low-income individuals and families from the community. Michael Hogan, Commissioner, New York State Office of Mental Health, praised the building and the program, predicting that it “will become known as the cornerstone of the revitalization of this Brooklyn neighborhood.”
