Riverbank State Park is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. Dattner Architects began designing it in 1978 – and construction was completed fifteen years later, transforming the rooftop of a 28.5-acre infrastructure pier into one of New York State’s busiest state parks. Located along the Hudson River, the park runs from 137th Street to 145th Street in Harlem. Riverbank includes 23 acres of playing fields, picnic areas, and playgrounds; a covered skating rink; a 50-meter indoor swimming pool; a multi-use athletic building; a carousel, and more! New York City’s busiest state park, Riverbank has served over 60 million visitors since it opened.
