Located on the heavily landscaped campus of a private K-12 school, this new building provides a focal point for the campus devoted to student activities and instruction. The Center ties together two existing buildings, defines a corner of the central campus quad, and provides a renewed presence for the school along a major public street.
A glazed north-facing “interior street” runs the length of the building on both floors, unifying the elevations of the new and old buildings and providing ample room for circulation, with student locker spaces and seating niches overlooking the quad. Classrooms, music rehearsal spaces, administrative rooms, and an expanded cafeteria face the main access avenue.
